Attorney Profile

Lawrence P. Buck

The foundation of Lawrence Buck’s practice is the considerable experience and skill he employs in guiding clients through the legal system. Whether navigating someone through the criminal justice system, addressing a business-related matter, helping a family confronted with substance abuse issues or creating an estate plan, his diverse and varied work background prior to becoming a lawyer serves his clients well.

For clients who find themselves in the criminal justice system, it is frequently their first experience with the courts or law enforcement. For clients needing other legal services his methodical, even-handed approach is reassuring and welcome.

Immediately prior to his admission to law school, Mr. Buck worked at the trial court level for the Office of the Court Administrator of Palm Beach County for nearly three years. This time spent in the courtroom preceding his legal studies provided invaluable real-world education and an introduction to the criminal justice system that continues to benefit his clients today.

In his third year of law school, Mr. Buck met the criteria of the Florida Supreme Court as a Certified Legal Intern and began an internship with the Office of the Public Defender in Palm Beach County. The internship preceded his employment as an Assistant Public Defender where he gained extensive trial experience defending indigent adults and juveniles facing prosecution in Palm Beach County criminal and juvenile court. The knowledge and strategies learned at the Public Defender’s Office were expanded on while an Associate at the civil litigation firm of Littky, Smith & Phipps in West Palm Beach. At Littky, Smith, and Phipps he advocated for the rights of injured individuals and their families over the interests of the insurance companies and corporate America.

This ultimately led to establishing Lawrence P. Buck, P.A. which initially focused on defending adults and juveniles who found themselves on the wrong side of the law. Over time the practice has expanded to include estate planning, real estate, and general practice matters and Marchman Act litigation. He has become known for proactive, creative solutions specifically tailored to each individual client’s needs while dispensing pragmatic advice. Active in the local Bar association he frequently gives of his time in the furtherance of his profession. He is a past president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association North County Section (2015-2016) having served on the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2017. He was twice recognized by the Florida Supreme Court for pro-bono work advocating on behalf of children for the Palm Beach County Legal Aid Society and donated his time, energy and knowledge to the Planning and Implementation Committee for the creation of the Palm Beach County Juvenile Drug Court program. In 2009-2010 he received an award from the Knights of Columbus for service to local military veterans. He is well respected by his fellow attorneys and the judiciary for his legal skill and ethical standards which are evidenced by earning an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell in 2016. He currently sits on the Advisory Council of the Florida Atlantic University Wilkes Honors College in Jupiter, Florida where he also teaches a popular course in the spring semester called ‘Law in the Real World”. His reputation is frequently the basis for new client referrals from fellow attorneys and former clients.
